Iceni House
Iceni House is a purpose built centre that provides a high
quality residential facility designed for youth groups of all kinds.
Opened in 2002, Iceni House is a modern fully featured and fully equipped
centre that will enable your group to experience a range of residential and
adventurous activities from a clean and comfortable base. All the features
you would expect in a centre designed for youth groups have been built to
provide comfort and security.
Iceni house normally provides living and sleeping accommodation for
up to 48 people. Extra facilities can be provided by prior arrangement

The Bedrooms

The 10 Bedrooms are named
after places in Norfolk. Eight rooms have two bunk beds with mattresses that
have waterproof coverings. There are drawers underneath the bunks and
individual open wardrobes for personal clothing. Toilet and shower
facilities are on the bedroom corridor and washbasins are also provided in
in the rooms. There are two rooms (North and South Norfolk) which are
designated as leaders / staff rooms. Both have a wall safe for valuables,
long mirror, low table and easy chairs and in addition North Norfolk has
ensuite facilities
All rooms have Velux
windows with opening restrictors and dark out blinds which provide a good
black out. There are 2 further rooms with 4 bunk beds in each. These room
are not equipped with wash basins
Users may
provide their own personal bedding or can hire it from the centre at an
extra cost. If using duvets an under sheet is required.

The Kitchen
Self Catering groups will
appreciate the kitchen which is fully equipped to catering standards. Easily
able to cope with numbers of over 1 00
diners, facilities include 12 hobs, 2 ovens, 2 fridges, a freezer and a
commercial dishwasher. All cooking equipment, crockery and cutlery is
provided. A fully catered service is also available.

The Dining Room and Main Hall
Served directly from the kitchen, the
dining room can seat 50 people in comfort. If more space is required the
dividing wall to the main hall can be opened. In addition to providing
extra dining hall space the hall is available for a variety of purposes from
small group activities to conference gatherings off 100 or more people. The
hall is not available for sports activities or team games.

The Bussey room
On the first floor, the
Bussey room is large enough to be a group room at the end of the day for
films or stories. There are video and DVD playback facilities but no
television reception. Group leaders may find the Bussey room a good
place to relax at the end of a busy day

The Cozens Hardy Room
Named after a benefactor of Iceni house,
the Cozens Hardy room is a classroom, a craft room or a meeting room,
whatever you need it to be.
There are tables and chairs for around 25
but the room will accommodate more or less people depending upon the use you
put it to.

The Ground Floor
The main entrance
is used by al visitors to Eaton Vale. Residents are welcome to use the main
entrance when they arrive and depart at the start and finish of their stay
but are asked to use one of the 6 other doors during their stay. This
will enable group leaders to control access to residential parts of Iceni
House. Unnamed area on the plan are not part of the residential facilities.
Fire Precautions
Iceni house has
non smoking policy which we ask you to observe. All users of Iceni house
have a responsibility to observe normal precautions to protect themselves
from the possibility of fire. In addition Iceni House has a fire
certificate which places obligations on users that include ensuring that all
self closing doors are able to close and must not be blocked and posters and
other paper based items may not displayed on corridor walls. Group leaders
are advise to locate the fire exits, the fire assembly point and to practice
a fire drill soon after arrival.
