Opened in 2002, Iceni House is a modern fully featured and fully equipped centre that will enable your group to experience a range of residential and adventurous activities from a clean and comfortable base. All the features you would expect in a centre designed for youth groups have been built to provide comfort and security.
Iceni house normally provides living and sleeping accommodation for up to 58 people. Extra facilities can be provided by prior arrangement.
The Bedrooms
The 10 Bedrooms are named after places in Norfolk. Eight rooms have two bunk beds with mattresses that have waterproof coverings. There are drawers underneath the bunks and individual open wardrobes for personal clothing. Toilet and shower facilities are on the bedroom corridor and washbasins are also provided in in the rooms. There are two rooms (North and South Norfolk) which are designated as leaders / staff rooms. Both have a wall safe for valuables, long mirror, low table and easy chairs and in addition North Norfolk has ensuite facilities.
All rooms have Velux windows with opening restrictors and dark out blinds which provide a good black out. There are 2 further rooms with 4 bunk beds in each. These room are not equipped with wash basins.
Users may provide their own personal bedding or can hire it from the centre ( bottom sheet pillow and pillow case ) at an extra cost. If using duvets an under sheet is required.
The Kitchen
Self Catering groups will appreciate the kitchen which is fully equipped to catering standards. Easily able to cope with numbers of over 100 diners, facilities include 12 hobs, 2 ovens, 2 fridges, a freezer and a commercial dishwasher. All cooking equipment, crockery and cutlery is provided. A fully catered service is also available.
The Dining Room and Main Hall
Served directly from the kitchen, the dining room can seat 50 people in comfort. If more space is required the dividing wall to the main hall can be opened.
In addition to providing extra dining hall space the hall is available for a variety of purposes from small group activities to conference gatherings off 100 or more people. The hall is not available for sports activities or team games.
The Bussey Room
On the first floor, the Bussey room is large enough to be a group room at the end of the day for films or stories. There are video and DVD playback facilities but no television reception. Group leaders may find the Bussey room a good place to relax at the end of a busy day.
The Cozens Hardy Room
Named after a benefactor of Iceni house, the Cozens Hardy room is a classroom, a craft room or a meeting room, whatever you need it to be.
There are tables and chairs for around 25 but the room will accommodate more or less people depending upon the use you put it to.
The main entrance is used by all visitors to Eaton Vale. Residents are welcome to use the main entrance when they arrive and depart at the start and finish of their stay but are asked to use any of the 6 other doors during there stay. This will enable group leaders to control access to the residential parts of Iceni House. Unnamed areas on the plan are not part of the residential facilities.
Iceni House is normally arranged to accommodate 48 people in 10 rooms.

Eaton Vale no longer provides a public payphone. We advise groups to ensure access to a private mobile phone. The Centre telephone number is for emergency contact only and should not be issued as a means of contacting group members.
The Lift is key-operated. Please ask for a key if a member of your group requires access to the lift.
Silent hours on site 11pm - 7 am
There are 7 campsites separated by trees and wooded areas, camp site size's vary and can accommodate groups of around 20 - 50 people.
Sites 2, 5 and 7 are larger and can hold groups of over 50 campers.
These numbers are just a guide and are dependent on the type of tents used and the arrangement of the camp.
Sites 2, 7, & 8 have a site hut with electric.
A Water supply is on or close to each site. Wheelie bins are provided for campers to have on their site for the duration of the camp. Waste needs to be placed in bin bags to and bins returned to the bin collection point at the end of the stay.
Wet and dry pits are not permitted. Arrangements for the disposal of any wet waste is to be above the ground only, centre staff can offer advice.
There is a toilet and shower block for use by all campers. Toilet cubicles and wash basins are provided for males and females. There are 6 individual cubicles and 1 accessible toilet and shower.
Meadows beside the river can be used as games areas as well as providing access to the river itself.
No open ground fires are to be created on the campsite. Alter fires are available for use, along with a designated wood pile for burning wood on them. ( or you can burn dead wood found on the ground in the woodland areas)
