Eaton Vale offers an excellent choice of outdoor adventurous activities instructed by qualified and experienced staff. Specialist equipment necessary for each activity is provided along with any personal safety equipment that may be required.
Session times
Instructed activity session times are designed to last up to one and a half hours (90 minutes). Start times are arranged to suit each group. It is important that the whole group is present at the start of the session.
Age
Most of the activities require a degree of physical development and awareness. For this reason a minimum age of 8 years is suggested. Cub Scout & Brownie groups are welcome. Some activities can be organised to suit Beaver scouts please ask for details.
Special needs
We will do our best to make an activity achievable by any person who wishes to try. This is dependant upon the consent of the participant and the safety of the instructor. We expect group leaders to inform activity instructors of any condition that may affect participation or safety of any person taking part in any activity.

Indoor Activites
Indoor activities require clean trainers, walking boots are not suitable for the climbing wall.
Climbing is a strenuous activity that requires free movement, wear clothes that are easy to move in and not to warm.
Coats may be required when going outside.
Fully instructed sessions last around 90 minutes and are structured to suit the age and ability of the group. Harness and specialist equipment provided. Participants provide their own footwear e.g. Clean trainers.
Indoor Climbing Wall
Suitable for all ages and abilities. All equipment is provided and with an instructor qualified to Guide Climbing or SPA.
Cost £7.00 per person per session. Minimum number 10.
The Rock
Climbing wall the revolves and tilts. Suitable for all ages.
Cost £7.00 per person per session. Minimum number 10.
Big Games
Aimed at younger groups as an activity session or to go alongside a climbing activity. Floor games like ‘Snake & Ladders’, Twister, 4 in a row and others.

Water Based Activities
When taking part in water based activities it is possible to get wet.
Participants must be prepared with a complete change of clothes and shoes.
We strongly recommend showering after all water activities, participants must bring their own towel.
Buoyancy aids, paddles and use of the shower facilities are included. Participants will require a complete change of clothing and a towel. Old trainers should be worn along with clothes suitable for the prevailing conditions.
Kayaks
Each participant has their own single seat kayak with a paddle and buoyancy aid. Instructors qualified to BCU L2 Coach.
Canoes
For 2 or 3 persons each with a paddle and buoyancy aid, Instructors are qualified to BCU L2 Coach., Check availability as canoes are not always available.
Cost £7.00 per person per session. Minimum number 10.
Rafting
An instructor will help to construct your raft from barrels, ropes and spars. Paddles and buoyancy aids provided.
Cost £7.00 per person per session. Minimum number 10.
Raft Kits
Do-it-yourself, equipment to construct your own raft. Includes paddles and buoyancy aids. Raft Kits include spars, ropes, and barrels for the rafts. Paddles and buoyancy aids for each person rafting. Instruction is not included.

Outdoor Activities

Air Rifle target shooting
Purpose built range and all equipment provided. Instructor qualified to NSRA.
Cost £7.00 per person per session. Minimum number 10. No special clothing required.
Go-Karts
Pedal powered and great fun, lots of possibilities for team or individual games. Normally self run but can be instructed at additional cost.
Cost £4.00 per person per session. Minimum number 10. No special clothing required.
Grass Sledges
Fun for all ages but more suitable for younger people. Normally self run but can be instructed at additional cost.
Cost £4.00 per person per session. Minimum number 10. No special clothing required.
Orienteering
A short course of check points around the site. Maps and suggestions for courses provided. Normally self supervised but instruction can be provided for the start of the session.
Cost £1.50 per person.
Pioneering
Aimed at Scout & Guide groups. A large range of equipment is available. Please discuss your project with site staff. Instructors by arrangement only.
Cost £15 per evening, £20 per day, £40 per week.
Camp fire
Our campfire is available for hire, a fire can be built at a small charge.
