A joint venture between Norfolk Scouts & Guides, Eaton Vale Activity Centre is a community asset and aims to deliver first class outdoor activities to both local, national and international groups of all ages.

Scouts

 

Eaton Vale offer a wide variety of activities for the Scout Association.  We welcome Scouts from across the UK.

Beaver Scouts

 

Beaver Scouts can use our Indoor Wall where we provide a great introduction to climbing.  Some activities maybe be unsuitable for beavers but please contact the centre for full details. 

We offer the opportunity for Beaver Colonies to stay in Iceni House for 24 hours.  Groups are best to get together to share the premises over a weekend stay to reduce costs.

Cub Scouts

 

Cubs can stay in Iceni House and Camp, most activities are available but please contact the centre for more details.  Eaton Vale staff are active scout leaders so if you would like to complete a specific badge or deliver an activity as part of a balanced programme please do ask us for more details. 

Scouts can utilise Eaton Vale to it's full potential, these include the use of the house, campsites and all of the activities.

Explorers and Network Scouts

 

Explorers and Network Scouts are welcome, why not come down and complete your D of E Training with us.  We welcome volunteers who wish to complete their service accreditation. Our new Service Team is also launching in 2010 so keep a look out for that.

The centre is jointly owned by Norfolk Girlguiding Association, we can provide activities for all sections from Norfolk and the all over the UK.

Rainbows

 

Rainbows can utilise the house and activities, as well as have a sleepover. 

We can tailor activities to meet your needs so please contact the centre for more information and to discuss your requirements.

Brownies

 

Brownies from across the UK are visiting Eaton Vale on a weekly basis.  The main residential house provides excellent facilities to have as a pack holiday venue. 

You are able to self cater or the centre can provide catering. Best practice with regards to Food Safety is recommended.  Brownies can also utilise our on site activities please see our activities page for more details.

Guides

 

Guides and Senior Section are able to use the residential accommodation and the campsites. 

Activities can be integrated within residential trips, day trips or as single sessions. Senior section can use the campsite to gain camp permits when pre arranged.

All visits must contact the camp adviser and pack holiday advisor prior to arrival at Eaton Vale.

How to Book

For Iceni House or Camping, please check availability and use our booking request form, alternatively call us on 01603 501228 or email office@eatonvale.co.uk to check availability of accommodation and activities. We will need to know your name, address and numbers you are bringing.

Once you have agreed dates with us, please download the relevant booking form from our downloads page on the website www.eatonvale.co.uk and complete all the fields on the form. As well as the booking form you need to send in the required deposit stated at the top of the form. Provisional bookings are held for 7 days.

Once your deposit and booking form is received, we will confirm in writing and outline the details of your visit. Any outstanding balance will be need to paid on arrival.

If you have any queries our customer service team will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have and give guidance and help with your booking.

Booking Information

Clothing

Participants are responsible for personal clothing which should be suitable for the weather conditions at the time of your activity.

The Climbing Wall requires clean trainers. Walking boots are not suitable.

Climbing is a strenuous activity that requires free movement, wear clothes that are easy to move in and not too warm.

Water based activities

When taking part it is possible to get wet. Participants must be prepared with a complete change of clothes and shoes. Old trainers should be worn along with clothes suitable for the prevailing conditions. We strongly recommend showering after all water activities, participants must bring their own towel.

Buoyancy aids, paddles and use of the shower facilities are included. Participants will require a complete change of clothing and a towel.

Session Times

Instructed activity session times are designed to last up to one and a half hours (90 minutes). Start times are arranged to suit each group. It is important that the whole group is present at the start of the session.

Age

Most of the activities require a degree of physical development and awareness. For this reason a minimum age of 8 years is suggested. Cub Scout & Brownie groups are welcome. Some
activities can be organised to suit Beaver scouts please ask for details.

Special needs

We will do our best to make an activity achievable by any person who wishes to try. This is dependant upon the consent of the participant and the safety of the instructor. We expect group leaders to inform activity instructors of any condition that may affect participation or safety of any person taking part in any activity.
